How to intimidate your opponents at Poker: Tony G is the anwser!

December 28, 2009 · Posted in Poker Strategy, Texas Holdem poker tips

I came across one very nice video about Tony G (his real name is Antanas Guoga by the way) that made me go and write this blog post. The reason is simple: I have always liked Tony G, not only because he is by my opinion among the best NL Texas Holdem Tournament and Cash Game players out there, but because his passion and love towards poker is enormous!

You will often times hear him saying something like this: It takes heart and courage to play winning poker! And when it comes t poker, he definitely has big heart as well as the commitment and love for the game. Just look at the list of the live poker tournaments he won and you will know what I am talking about.

Besides enormous general poker knowledge and experience, there is another thing where Tony G is especially good at! If you will ever want to learn how to intimidate your opponents in live poker or how to use table trash talk to put your opponents off their top game, then Tony G is the man you should learn from!

Why? Well, just because he does that the best! I will prove it to you by posting a video below so you will see what I am talking about. What he does is makes his opponents to fear him and then takes control simply dominates them with his play. Usually the cards will just follow along with him.

My words are not able to describe the energy that comes out of the Tony G whenever he plays poker, so I will just invite you to see it for yourself! Here is the video:

What do you think about Tony G and his poker style? Please let us know by leaving a comment below! Thanks, good luck at the poker tables and stay in touch.

Nice video and post too :)

I am not good in Poker, so read this post about Tony G. But when I search for the Best Poker Players of 2010, I found a page where a name comes at the Top i.e. Phil Ivey . I am bit confused !!! Who's occupying the top position?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Hehe..you are right about the bracelets, but I have watched him play in a couple of cash game sessions on various poker tv shows with some of the most known players and the moves were good (by my opinion) so I like his poker game. : )
