Find out about the basics of Rush Poker and read the Tips on how to play Rush Poker from Howard Lederer!

As you know, Full Tilt Poker has just recently launched a new way of playing online poker. It is called Rush Poker and I have already mentioned a couple of things about it in my previous post. Since this kind of online poker games are becoming more and more popular every day, more and more players are interested in how to play Rush Poker profitably.

If this is the case with you as well, then you should definitely read this blog post as it will provide you with some general guidelines or tips for playing Rush poker. It also includes a link to Howard Lederer’s article about this new way of playing online poker.

Anyways, because of its novelty, not much has been said, written and published about how to play these online poker games yet. So far, the only poker player who has written a couple of useful tips for Rush Poker is Howard Lederer (The Poker Professor).

You can read Howard Lederer’s tips by clicking on the following link: The Basics of Rush Poker

To continue with the basics: Before you rush out and involve yourself in these kind of online poker games, you should know that Rush Poker is different from standard online or live poker games in the following aspects:

You are up against large pool of players

Your opponents will be selected from the pool of up to 2000 players. This means you are not playing just against 6 or 9 players like in standard ring games, but instead you are facing new poker players basically every new hand.

The importance of table image is thus reduces significantly, but it is still advisable to observe your opponents and how they play online poker.

Time waiting for new hand is reduced massively

Whenever you fold a hand, you are instantly moved to another table and you instantly get dealt another hand. That means no waiting for the table to finish the current hand.

You get to play a lot more hands in the same period of time. According to Howard Lederer’s article, Rush poker allows you to play 300 hands per hour instead of 80 as in normal online poker games.

In the past, you could only achieve this with multitabling (playing more than one table at the same time), but not any more obviously. Ofcourse, you can still multitable on two different limits and play 600 hands per hour with just two tables!

You still pay for the blinds

Perhaps you are thinking something like this: I will only play big hands (like AA and KK) and will fold anything else. Well, you can do that ofcourse, but do not forget that you will still be paying for the blinds.

Do not relly only on the monsters pre-flop. Go out there and steal some blinds in Rush Poker as well, especially when you are in middle and late positions.

I have tried Rush Poker. It is kind of a crazy texas holdem software. I do like that this poker tournament software lets you skip all the BS when you are waiting for another person to fold. It really speeds up the process. I do agree with a few poker tips stated above. One of the most important poker tips I recommend doing is steeling blinds. You can't wait for the monsters even if Full Tilt has designed a texas holdem software that allows you to skip through the game faster than usual. That said, what I like about this poker tournament software is that it speeds up the boring parts. What I do not like about this poker tournament software is that it doesn't really give you a complete grasp of the game. You also can't get a read on players with Full Tilt's new rush poker tournament software. I don't know. It is cool at first, but like I said, one of the best poker tips I can say is you need to be playing full tournaments and learning the general structure of the game if you really want to grasp the game. Thanks!
