Putting No-limit Texas Hold’em poker game into perspective

First of all, No-limit Texas Hold’em is a game of poker. This particular game of poker is basically a version or form of Texas Hold’em. There are other versions of Texas Hold’em in existence as well besides No-limit, such as Limit Hold’em and Pot-limit Hold’em.

All these versions of Texas Hold’em are basically the same poker games when it comes to general rules and characteristics, but there is one thing that makes them very different from each other: Betting rules.

Because of the betting rules in No-limit Texas Hold’em, you are potencially risking all your money, whenever it is your turn to act.

That also means that you are allowed to invest any amount of money you wish into the Pot. The Pot is the money that you are hoping to win and is located in the middle of the virtual or real poker table.

This money is collected from the players, who decided to play their hand, and from the players on the Small and the Big Blind position, who have to risk their money before actually receive their cards or so called whole cards (You receive 2 private cards in Texas Hold’em, more about that in later posts).

Everyone gets the honour to be The Small and The Big blind after certain amount of hands have been played. For instance: If there are 9 players playing Texas Hold’em in one game of poker, you will be BB once in 9 hands. This money is also called a Dead Money.

This also leads us to the object of No-Limit Texas Hold’em or a game of poker in general. Why are we playing poker anyways? Well, besides the adrenaline, excitement and rush that No-limit Texas Hold’em has to offer, we also play it because of money. We play poker to win money.
