Online Poker Freeroll Tournaments at Full Tilt Poker

A couple of days ago I involved myself in my own Chris Ferguson bankroll challenge with a goal to build myself a nice bankroll of $10,000 starting with no money at all. So far I have already played a couple of online poker freeroll tournaments and will continue to do so until I win some money.

From then on my goal is to grind my way up by playing micro & low stakes online poker games. Hopefully getting into the money in the freerolls will happen soon, even though I had no success by now.

As you know, the online poker room I started to play freerolls on is Full Tilt Poker. This is mainly because I feel comfortable with the poker site and it attracts lots of online poker players as well, which means more weak players for me to beat once I get my bankroll rolling. To give you a better feel: at peak time there are over 100,000 players are logged in.

I have actually been playing poker on Full Tilt before, but it was never freerolls. So the first thing I had to do in terms of my Ferguson’s poker challenge was to make a research on what freeroll poker tournaments are available for me to join in. Here is what I discovered:

Full Tilt Poker Freeroll tournaments

Full Tilt Poker has lots of freerolls for me to join. Their website states that they have over 900 freerolls per month with a total prize pol of $85,000. That simply means I will have no problems with finding myself online freeroll to play (and win hopefully).

Daily online poker freeroll tournaments

Especially interesting for me are FTP’s daily freeroll tournaments. Full Tilt has twenty-four (24) daily freeroll poker tournaments open for every one to join. That means new freeroll tournament every hour! I think this is great because it provides me with lots of attempts.

If I get kicked out of the tournament quickly, I can still join another one if I want to and thus increase my chances of getting into the money as well.

The prize pools for these daily online poker freerolls stay pretty much the same throughout the whole day. You can:

  • win a ticket or entry to Weekly Freeroll (where the prizepool is $1,000) hour in 12 tournaments per day or/and
  • get yourself a share of $150 prizepool in 12 tournaments per day as well.

Other freeroll tournaments on Full Tilt Poker

Ofcourse, there are many other freerolls as well going on at Full Tilt Poker. Some of them are restricted and thus limited to only certain players (country specific freerolls, poker magazine freerolls and so on), but there are other interesting freerolls available as well, especially around big events, such as FTOPS XV.

For instance, I just registered to a freeroll named »FTOPS Warm up Freeroll«, where the first 200 players (so far 41,000 players are registered out of 60,000 possible) get an entry or ticket to the »FTOPS Turbo Warm up« (buy-in for tournament is $5.5).

The total prizepool for »FTOPS Turbo Warm up«, which btw starts on Sunday, February 7th at 13:45 ET, is $250,000 guaranteed and is limited to 50,000 players. Very good tournament I would say, especially if you manage to win it. On top of that, the winner also gets an entry to the FTOPS XV Main Event, worth $535!

As you can see, the Full Tilt Poker has a big selection of freeroll online poker tournaments as well! The only problem I see is the number of players that register to this freerolls. They get filled up to 10,000 players pretty quickly, which means I will have to be very persistent and willing to play a freeroll for three hours and more to get into the money.

That is it for now. Have fun and see ya around! : )

My Chris Ferguson’s poker bankroll challenge

Starting with my own Chris Ferguson’s challenge by playing online freeroll poker tournaments

A couple of days ago I registered to one of the freerolls on Full Tilt Poker. This was simply because I have not played online poker for quite some time now and just wanted to play a couple of hands for the fun of it. But before even realizing, I involved myself into the Chris Ferguson’s poker bankroll challenge!

The idea of starting (or should I say: embarking on) my own Chris Ferguson’s poker challenge came all of a sudden to me. It was never planned or premeditated, it just occured my mind when I was waiting for my online freeroll to begin.

I said something like this to myself: »Hey, you have no bankroll at all to play poker. Why dont you build yourself one by doing exactly what Chris Ferguson did on his poker challenge from Zero to Hero?« And the decision was made!

In case you do not know what Ferguson’s poker challenge is all about, then I suggest you read the following two blog posts I wrote some time ago:

To sum it up: My main goal is to build a poker bankroll of $10,000 starting with no money at all. Since I have no funds to play poker with, I have no choice but to start playing freeroll poker tournaments until I get myself some funds to actually buy into a tournament or cash-game.

From then on I will be closely following bankroll management rules, which Chris Ferguson used in his challenge where he went from zero to a bankroll of $10,000. Since I wont be working on my bankroll challenge every day (due to lack of time mostly), I set myself a goal to achieve this in 5 years from now.

I have already made one video regarding my challenge on my Youtube channel explaining more in details about the journey I am about to embark on. Here it is:

The thing I forgot to mention is this: In case I do not manage to get some funds from the freerolls for lets say 6 months, I will deposit some cash into my poker account and start playing on the micro limits and go on from there. This is because I know how hard can freerolls be to get into the cash.

As I said I will start playing on Full Tilt Poker (you are invited to play online poker there as well, click here to register), but will be looking out for other online poker freerolls to join in as well.

Whenever I find a good freeroll to join in (big prizepool, small number of participants), I will tell you about it on my blog or in the Youtube videos I will be making. Therefore, make sure to subscribe to my blog or Youtube channel.

That is it for now, have fun and stay in touch!
